One question decides it: whose stock is on your racks? If it's your own — you import, produce, or distribute — you're Business. If you charge other people to store theirs, you're 3PL: it adds the client switcher, per-client billing, and the branded portal your clients log into. You can switch any time in Settings → Plan & billing; no data migration.
You add a payment method in Settings → Plan & billing and keep going — $19/month for Business, $99 flat for 3PL. If you don't, the account locks until you do; nothing is deleted, your data stays put, and CSV export keeps working so you're never held hostage.
Neither. Sign up, name your warehouse, and you're receiving stock the same hour — full feature set from day one, including bonded and excise if you need it. The demo is there if you'd rather look around a working warehouse first.
